Enrollment

There are currently openings in the afternoon three and four-year-old programs for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Enrollment for the 2012-2013 academic year will begin for existing students in November of 2011. In December, Holy Redeemer

parishioners and alumni can register. General

enrollment will begin in January

During general enrollment, available spots will

be held on a first-come, first-served basis until the

deadline for all necessary applications and de-

posits. Then, spots assigned to families who have

not submitted those applications and deposits will

open to those on the waiting list.

Once the school roster has been determined, interested parents are encouraged to call throughout the year as family relocation often

makes spots available.

Tours of the school can be arranged by calling the director. Next year’s prospective students begin one hour visits to the school in January of the current academic year.

Is your child ready to attend Holy Redeemer Nursery School?

In order to attend, your child must be:

· Three years-old by September 1

· Fully toilet-trained and independent in the bathroom by the first day of school

Parental Participation Requirements

All parents are required to work in their child’s classroom, the frequency depending on the program in which their child is enrolled. There are also two work days, one at the end of the year, and one the parents select. The school relies on additional participation, including chaperoning and driving field trips, helping with parties and charity projects, and jobs you can do at home.

To work at the school or with the children, you must meet the following

requirements of the Archdiocese of Washington before your first day:

· Complete their volunteer application form, which will be provided to you by the school

· Be fingerprinted and undergo a subsequent FBI and State of Maryland criminal background check (at the school’s expense)

· Attend the class “Protecting God’s Children” (at the school’s expense)

· Produce documentation of a negative tuberculosis test within the last three years

Once your child’s spot in the school is ensured, you will be given detailed information on how to access these services. It is advisable to complete these requirements as soon as you know your child has a spot in the school.

Student Health Requirements

The Maryland Department of Health and Human Services, Childcare Administration requires that a Health Inventory and Maryland Immunization Certificate be completed by your child’s physician and returned to the school before the first day of school, along with additional forms.
